Game Design and Learning: How Psychology Influences Games

Games have been used for both entertainment and teaching throughout history. As it turns out, learning, challenge, and fun are innately tied in the human psyche. We discuss how theories of game design can inform education and how theories of motivation, engagement, and learning can help us improve our games. Whether you are interested in games for learning or simply entertainment, we hope this talk will facilitate discussion and help you view game design from a different perspective.
